The year 2024 holds significant milestones for all of us: It marks the 90th anniversary of our revered Guruji, Śrī Amṛtānandānātha Sarasvatī, the 9th anniversary of his Mahāsamādhi, and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Devipuram’s Meru Temple. In celebration of the auspicious occasion of Guru Pūrṇimā in 2024, we are thrilled to release an update publication to our Guru Malar, which we released in 2022, that traces the sannyāsa lineage handed down to us through Gurugaru.

After extensive research spanning many years, we have uncovered deeper layers of our paramparā, now encompassing approximately 1,200 years and over 50 gurus tracing back to Śaṅkarācārya himself. This lineage also incorporates three additional Vārāṇasī pīṭhams/maṭhs: Mumukṣu Bhavan, Kāmarūpa Maṭh, and Rajguru Sumeru Maṭh.

This publication presents the entire paramparā from Sanakācārya to Caitanyānandanātha, totaling 53 gurus. It begins with a discussion of the Dandi sannyāsis and descriptions of the original pīṭhas established by Śaṅkarācārya. Following this, we describe the newly discovered related pīṭhas/maṭhs of our paramparā and provide selected biographies of our gurus, including the newly found biographies of Ghanashyamananda Tīrtha, his guru Īśvarānanda Tīrtha, and the illustrious Bengali saint Sarvānanda Ṭhākura.
