Purattasi Saniswara Offering (Potalam)

Each Saturday in the month of Purattasi is an auspicious time to worship and receive the blessings of Saniswara, or Lord Saturn. As black sesame seeds are an appropriate offering for Saniswara, those who are able to visit the Temple will have the chance to offer a packet of black sesame seeds (potalam) into the homa fire or light them in a clay lamp.

This is considered an auspicious form of worship as it reduces the more difficult influences of Saniswara in our lives. This opportunity will be available at the Temple on the following Saturdays

🗓️ Sat, Sep 21
🗓️ Sat, Sep 28
🗓️ Sat, Oct 5
🗓️ Sat, Oct 12

If you are unable to be present physically on any of those Saturdays, you have the option to request an offering be made on your behalf. Please complete this request a virtual offering. If you will be present, please make an inquiry at the bookstore upon arrival.

September 28th, October 5th and October 12th (lighting only at Bhairava shrine).
